Porta Nuova is an ambitious urban redevelopment project for the Garibaldi, Isola and Varesina districts.

The walk to the ‘Milano Porta Nuova’ begins with Piazza Gae Aulenti, designed by the architect Cesar Pelli and winner of the prestigious international award Landscape Institute 2016 in the category Design for a medium-scale development, presents majestic artistic installations, pools of water, games of lights and skyscrapers.

23 “trumpets” of the artist Alberto Garutti connect the underground levels to the surface and allow you to hear the sounds of the subsoil. Continue to Milan Eataly Smeraldo, the new Oscar Farinetti store. The space dedicated to quality food with points of sale, bars, restaurants and classrooms, preserves the artistic spirit of the building that houses it, the historic Teatro Smeraldo.

What many have called the “square of the future” has in fact been conceived as a meeting point and sociality for the citizens. A long bench-sculpture on which to rest, the rustling of the water that mitigates the noise of the surrounding streets and the drop of six meters above the city make this a place to escape to escape the frenetic pace of Milan, allowing of well-deserved rest with a view of the Milanese skyline.

The walk continues along Corso Como and Porta Garibaldi, the famous streets of Milan’s Movida that everyone is talking about.
